If, as a result of a moving violation, you elect to attend and complete traffic school, you will receive the following benefits:
1. Your insurance rates cannot go up and your policy cannot be cancelled because of this violation, unless this involved a crash where you were at fault.
2. Most insurance penalties and/ or retaining a "safe driver" status in accordance with requirements outlined in Section 318.14(9), Florida Statutes.
3. Points may not be added to your driver license record, adjudication of guilt is withheld.
4. Fine is reduced up to 18%. Check with the Clerk of Court in the county in which you received your ticket.

WITHIN 30 days from the date you received the traffic citation and prior to attending class, you must:
a. Inform the Clerk of Court in the county where you received the citation that you want to go to traffic school.
b. Pay the election fee (fine) to the Clerk of Court in the county in which you received your ticket.
Note: Your 4 hour Basic Driver Improvement Course Class fee is over and above the fine for your ticket.
